Cornwell Manor is a Cotswold wedding venue local to Oasis Events HQ which hosts intimate, luxurious private events in a very peaceful location. The venue approached Oasis to look after two client events in the summer of 2017, coordinating final details and providing “on the day(s) management” to ensure levels of quality and client expectations were delivered by all suppliers – on time, on budget and with absolutely no stress for the clients. This client was a London based family wanting to celebrate a 40th birthday party with friends and family, enjoying the house and grounds and catching up with loved ones.
The party event ran over 4 days during the August bank holiday, starting with a family of 24 guests gathering on Friday for in-house meals and local entertainments, followed by an elegant yet cosy Saturday evening BBQ complete with outdoor straw bale dining on the lawn, boutique tents, live magic and a giant bonfire in the field beyond.
Sunday welcomed all 90 guests back to the Manor for a chilled picnic lunch and poolside bar in the sunshine. Transport was arranged to move guests from their local hotel to the venue and back, and everyone returned later that night for a gala birthday evening with drinks on the lawn surrounded by flare candles, dinner in the ballroom, and partying in the secret night club tents with two live acts, tucked away in the walled garden.
Local suppliers were prioritised for both events food and drink, and structures, with the addition of specialist services such as bands, DJs, photographers and videographers from all over the UK.
Oasis coordinated everyone, took care of last minute changes and allowed the host family to entertain their guests and enjoy their weekend to the full.
A lasting memory for the event management of the Sunday night will be the county-wide power cut which affected the entire estate from minutes before supper was served until just after speeches. We coordinated emergency power supplies distributed to the kitchen and ballroom as darkness fell. The party were guided through the garden to dinner with back up battery up lighting and hand held torches making for a great atmosphere, and with only a 15 minute delay on the meal which was served hot and delicious, the power cut barely affected the guests whose meal was accompanied by some rather excellent a Capella singing instead of the planned jazz band.
Dany was fantastic, made sure every detail was checked and always had a smile on her face. We even had a village wide power cut just before dinner/dancing and the fact I didn’t have to worry about it and everything ran flawlessly is simply the highest compliment I can pay.
