Summer Lunch Party – party planning in sunny Oxfordshire

Morning all do you remember the summer of 2017? AKA a short but sweet experience, that happened a long time ago, for a brief few days in early June? Well if you don’t believe us that it ever happened… these sun-drenched photos might remind you! Here’s our work on a summer lunch party for 60 guests which was hosted in Kingham, Oxfordshire on a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon this summer.

The client was a London-based family with a weekend foothold in the village, and were looking for a Cotswold party planner to handle the design, preparation and implementation of a casual but stylish summer lunch for friends and family. These clients often travel to Europe to host their summer lunch but chose the UK for 2017 and lucked-out with the fantastic sunshine that day.

With various contingencies discussed at length, probabilities of rain or wind studiously calculated and the forecast watched like a hawk, it was with great pleasure that we gathered together our suppliers on the morning of 3rd June, just after the summer dew, to implement our ideas under a blue sky, with a view past the weeping willow to the corn fields. With the help of Vintage Marquees, Table to Dine For, Party Bales, Classic Crockery and Allium Florist, we pulled together this gorgeous looking bespoke party with every detail looking perfect down to the fresh rosemary and lavender tied to the copper cutlery. An “absolute beaut” which lasted into the evening, with the sounds of live jazz rolling gently away down the field… sigh….
