The couple chose to marry in St Nicholas Church, a breathtaking medieval building just a short walk from their family farm. Although the church had no power or running water, and access was limited due to its location at the end of a narrow cul-de-sac, our experience in Cotswold event planning meant we could transform this logistical challenge into a triumph. With careful coordination, guest communication, and expert planning, the church became a beautifully atmospheric setting for the ceremony.
Planning took place over 10 months via a combination of Zoom meetings and in-person visits when the family were in residence. Our clients took pride in preparing their Cotswold garden to host the reception beneath a stunning sailcloth marquee supplied by Original Marquees. To ensure the ancient grounds were protected—especially around the historic well—we commissioned a survey to identify pipework and protect the site during the marquee build.
From that point forward, we managed every detail of the event, working closely with the family's household staff to maintain the highest standards. This included:
- Coordinating specialist dietary cake deliveries
- Arranging private waste collections
- Managing wet weather preparations—including emergency towel drops to protect the pale carpet after a downpour
- Creating and executing a fully bespoke wedding schedule
As a Cotswolds-based event planning company (located in Stow-on-the-Wold), we loved working so close to home with our trusted network of local suppliers. The bride’s family chose:
We also arranged guest transport to and from local hotels, ensuring every element of the day—from ceremony to carriages—ran smoothly.
