Porsche Centre Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire

The Brief

The start of summer brought with it an opportunity to support the Porsche Centre in Tewkesbury to celebrate the 70 year anniversary of the famous brand by organising a corporate event and summer open day for their loyal customers in line with Porsche’s International “Sportscar together day”.

We were asked to assist the in-house Porsche team to entertain approximately 400 people during the day to include welcome drinks, test drives of the latest models, an exhibition of classic Porsches, a behind-the-scenes tour, food and drinks, and a range of activities to keep young and old amused and to enable maximum client engagement.

Showroom Ready

The Solution

Refreshments and an all day tea and coffee station were available on arrival, while a delicious high-quality barbecue and salads that matched the quality of the brand were being prepared ready for the lunch rush.

The first treats of the day were the chance to play on two Full Motion VR Driving Simulators, along with a Race Marshall and Drivers Leader Board – ‘Top Gear’ style. These simulators move to emulate the bumps and thrills of a Porsche GT car as it travels around one of the European race tracks. The level of effect is adjustable enabling drivers to experience subtle to fully blown G-Force level feedback.

More adrenaline fuelled fun could be had on the Batak/Reacta Machine: Renowned for being used to enhance sporting performance amongst F1 Drivers, Batak and Reacta light response machines are a fun and interactive challenge. Lightning fast reactions and excellent peripheral vision similar to those of a Formula 1 driver are required for this game, making it the perfect complement to any motorsport-related corporate event and a good source of healthy competition between parents and children – and in some cases just the parents!

Guest could watch a custom-produced montage of Porsche footage on two large screens, or have their photo taken against a green screen choosing from a tailored selection of historic and current Porsche models in which to appear.

A bespoke ice cream bar provided custom hand-made ice cream and sorbet flavours which matched certain car models, and these were served with dry ice for an extra ‘wow’. Guests could also create their own flavours from a fresh garnish bar.

Younger guests were kept amused by a selection of creative children’s entertainment stationed near to the central hub in one of the company’s spacious offices.

Test drives of the latest Porsche models were available during the corporate event and summer open day, as the fleet of test vehicles gleamed in the sunshine. Guests could take a behind-the-scenes tour of the facilities and workshop, and admire the exhibition of classic and current Porsches.
